This year, Business Management students from the IB1 class joined the World Future Business Leaders competition – an international contest for students who are interested in the world of business. Now being held online, it included the participation of schools from all over the world, including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Russia and us, St. Peter’s International School, from Portugal. The organisation aims to “provide opportunities to our future business leaders to learn, to compete, to grow and to lead our future innovation and economic development”, which is exactly our shared goal and mindset as a team.

Taking part in this extracurricular activity was optional for Business Management students and committing to it meant being ready to work hard throughout all of the stages of the competition. The members of our team who accepted this challenge were Afonso Aleixo, Beatriz Carvalho, Bernardo Cristóvão, Carolina Beck, Carolina Monteiro, Lavinia Antonino, Leonor Nazaré, Mante Brugman, Manuel Amado, Nadja Stojanovic and Vinicius Ferreira, which means the school was extremely well represented.

During the first stage of the competition, we had high achievers who truly represented the excellence of our school. We congratulate Afonso Aleixo, with a score of 90% in marketing (1st place globally), Bernardo Cristóvão, with 89% also in marketing (3rd place globally), Vinicius Ferreira, who scored 87% in management (5th place globally), Beatriz Carvalho, scoring 84% in marketing and Carolina Monteiro, who scored 84% in the management test.

For the future, we will continue to work as a team and support one another to do our best in this competition!

Here are some testimonials from the participating students:

“I feel really good moving forward and hopefully putting the school on the map for the International Business Olympiads Afonso Aleixo

“I really enjoyed my experience with WFBL. It was an incredible opportunity to be able to learn and remember so much about Business Management, a subject that I am currently studying and hope to pursue in the future. The competition is extremely well-organised as everything ran smoothly during the test we performed on Sunday, 21st February. I only hope to be able to participate in this project again and improve the business skills I will one day need.” ~ Carolina Monteiro
