Internal evaluation is a procedure that regulates the learning process, guiding academic development and certifying the student’s achievements. The basis of this evaluation is formative, continuous and systematic. Its purpose is diagnostic, allowing all those involved to obtain information regarding the child’s learning progress, so as to ascertain which adjustments and strategies need to be applied.
In order to ensure our students’ academic success, the school uses dynamic and personalized teaching methods. As such, evaluation is a fundamental factor, as it allows the identification of strengths and weaknesses of each student, enabling those involved to define individual strategies which will help the student’s progression.
The evaluation criteria and respective marking schemes are diverse and specific to each subject. As such, the oral component is valued in the Portuguese and Modern Language subjects, as are the practical components in subjects taught in the laboratory.
The evaluation criteria adopted at the school abide by the following legislation: Ordinance n.º 244/2011 of 21st June, which altered the Ordinance n.º 56/2010 of 21st January, the Ordinance n.º 1322/2007 of 4th October, the Ordinance n.º 550-D/2004, of 21st May and the Ordinance n.º 259/2006 of 14th March.
