1st Round of the 36th Portuguese Mathematics Olympics
For yet another consecutive year, our students accepted the invitation from the Portuguese Mathematics Society to participate in the 36th Portuguese Mathematics Olympics, which aims to encourage and develop a better appreciation for the subject.
On 8th November students Junior, Middle and Secondary School participated in the first round of this competition, which was of the activities promoted by the school’s Mathematics Club.
The proposed problems mostly challenged the quality of students' reasoning, creativity and imagination. Important factors in determining classifications are the logical rigor, the clarity of the explanation and the elegance of the resolution.
We are currently awaiting the publication of the names of the students who will go on to represent the school at the district phase, which will take place on 10th January.
