The Upper Intermediate Level for students at St. Peter's Internacional School is a period of transition into Secondary School education. This demanding stage in their school career continues to adopt a bilingual syllabus, with a more extensive programme in the English Language, developed in articulation with the National Curriculum.
Our work ethic focuses on progressively instilling in our pupils a sense of responsibility and autonomy in regards to their studies, together with solid moral values.
The teaching staff closely accompanies each student in their personal and academic development, aware of the physical and emotional changes that occur in this stage of in their lives. The Heads of Year and Form Teachers work continuously and systematically, adapting their teaching methods and treating each student as an individual, thus promoting their success. Staff and students work together as a multidisciplinary team, constantly striving for improvement and aiming for the highest standard of education. A important element during the three years of this academic period is the Psychology Department which supports all students, giving them the necessary tools to work in serenity and tranquility. In the final year of the Upper Intermediate Level, pupils have Academic and Career Guidance on a weekly basis, with individual and group counselling sessions, which result in the elaboration of a report showing the student's vocational profile and skills. The results are then analysed in an interview with the pupil and, whenever necessary, with the parent or guardian.
Students are expected to follow the school's regulations and guidelines and address all members of the school community with courtesy, respecting their teachers' authority and moral integrity. They should work with dedication and show quality in their work, doing their utmost in all tasks at hand.
